Elinor Moran


   Ellie Moran Return ConcertElinor was born in Staffordshire where all of her musical training took place until she won a place at Chetham’s School Of Music. She then went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she was awarded the Worshipful Company of Horner’s’ Becker Scholarship to complete her Masters Degree in performance and the Tracey Chadwell Memorial Prize for Contemporary Song.

Her recent operatic roles include Anna Don Giovanni (OUC/Soho Theatre) Mrs Bear Crawford Beginners (a new commission for the ROH Linbury Studio) Mimi La Boheme (in the Olivier Award winning OUC production at the Soho Theatre), Michaela Carmen (For EPOC at the Royal Albert Hall), Pamina The Magic Flute, Susanna The Marriage of Figaro, Rusalka/Voran May Night, Rowan The Little Sweep, Zerlina Don Giovanni, Gretel and Dew Fairy and Sandman Hansel and Gretel, Mercedes Carmen, Second Lady The Magic Flute, Polly Peachum The Threepenny Opera, Forester’s Wife and Owl The Cunning Little Vixen. Elinor has been the recipient of the Garsington Young Artist’s Award.

In 2010 Elinor featured as a soloist on a SONY BMG recording “The Best Of Gilbert And Sullivan” which reached the top of the Classical Chart.

Oratorio performances include Haydn Creation, Schumann Requiem, Rossini Petite Messe Solenelle, Verdi Requiem (at the Lighthouse Theatre Poole), Mozart Requiem, (in the Cadogan Hall) Haydn Nelson Mass, Mozart Coronation Mass, Faure Requiem, Mozart Vespere Solonne De Confessore, Rutter Feel The Spirit, Magnificat, Mendelssohn Elijah, Vivaldi Gloria.

Alongside her busy performance schedule Elinor is in demand as a vocal animateur and has worked for such companies as The Royal Opera House, English Touring Opera, Opera North and the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus in this capacity.

Elinor is thrilled to have performed in the Olympic Opening Ceremony this summer. Future work includes directing her first children’s opera “Hedgehog’s Home” at the Conway Hall and assisting on “Towards An Unknown Port” with ETO, which opens at the Linbury Studio before going on tour. She will also be returning to the West End in the role of Mimi for OUC at the Charing Cross Theatre in the autumn. .



 

Christina Gill


   Ellie Moran Return ConcertMezzo-soprano Christina Gill, holds bachelors and masters degrees in voice from the highly esteemed University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and from The Eastman School of Music. She received national recognition when she was invited by award-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch to make her debut at the Kennedy Center Stars of Tomorrow Concert with the National Symphony Orchestra singing selections from Carmen. Previous roles include the title roles in Carmen, Thérèse, and Babette’s Feast, Charlotte (Werther) Rasha (The Blackamoor Angel) Sorceress (Dido & Aeneas) Zaida (The Turk in Italy) Hippolyta (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) Tisbe (La Cenerentola) Zandra (Jerry Springer the Opera) and Margaret (Margaret Garner).

Ms Gill was a two-time winner in the Corbett Opera Competition and received the Samuel Adams Award for outstanding operatic performance. Concert credits include Les Noces, Duruflé and Mozart Requiems, Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody, Vivaldi Gloria, Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle.

Originally from New York, she has performed extensively with Cincinnati Opera. Opera Manhattan and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra amongst many other companies. Since moving to the UK she has performed the roles of Suzuki (Madam Butterfly), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni in the West End) and Carmen (Carmen) both at the Kings Head Theatre and in concert with New Devon Opera.
